Fly Stress Free

Once you have that passport in hand (and even if you have had one for as long as you can remember), I HIGHLY suggest you sign up for Global Entry! TSA Precheck is great too, and may be easier and faster to get, but Global Entry comes WITH TSA precheck included and for the extra $15 it will save you a LOT of time in customs at most major airports that you will be arriving at from overseas. Children 12 and younger can use their parents’ Global Entry and TSA Precheck numbers, but children 12 and older must apply independently.

TSA Precheck

What you get

  • Access to the TSA Precheck lanes at the airport!

  • No need to remove shoes, laptops, liquids (approved), or light jackets!

How to Apply:

  • Step 1: Apply online and schedule an appointment at an enrollment center (often an airport or a conference center)

  • Step 2: Attend appointment with ID documents (passport worked for me!), have your fingerprints taken on an IPAD and pay the fee.

  • Step 3: DONE! Wait for the email with your known traveler number, make sure you put it in your airline account or type it in when booking a ticket. Skip the long line and head to TSA Precheck for the next 5 years!
